So I had the task of reviewing the wonderful world of online comic strip creation know as ToonDoo. This application is a way to make an online comic strip that is another fun way of expressing your feelings and thoughts. It was extremely easy to use and makes for a very neat application.
Some of the features that I liked from this application was the fact that even though I could not draw myself out of a wet paper bag I was still able to make a very neat comic using all of the already loaded images. Another thing that I loved was the fact that you can make it public or private by being private you can share only with the people you want to see it. One thing that I did not like was the fact that you are in a matter of speaking limited to the images that you can choose from. Now I suppose that I might have missed something but from what I read they have a limited supply of images.
This was an application that I would love to spend more time with an may even use it outside of this class it was so simple to use that I never even had to look for the directions I just signed up for an account and went right into making my first comic strip. Top notch product that is both just as fun as it could be educational. Here is a link to my finished comic a little play on the reaches of Social Networking.
Hey, I think you have a promising future career in cartooning! This is web site I have never heard of, and I think it is wonderful! Doodling and tooning can be a great way to vent frustration and for someone that would like to get a point across in a light-hearted way, but as you say, can't draw out of wet paper bag, this is the way!
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I think this program sound like a lot of fun. great evaluation
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I like the idea, and you make it sound like fun. I was not allowed to view your comic which is too bad because I really wanted to. I have a feeling that I would want to upload my own graphics into a site like this but I should give it a try.
ReplyDeleteHi Nick,
ReplyDeleteThanks for reviewing ToonDoo! We're happy to know that you enjoyed using it.
Just wanted to add that if you feel the clipart is limited (although there are over 5000 characters, props and backgrounds)you can import your own images from your computer or from anywhere on the web using the ImagineR feature. You can also create your own custom characters using the traitr feature.
Do check these features out as you explore ToonDoo further.
Also, if you're looking at using ToonDoo in the classroom, you might want to check out our new product ToonDooSpaces at www.toondoospaces.com
