What can I say, this week was a bunch of signing up for new services the good: once you've done one you've done them all they all need the same information loaded into them monotonous would be a good word to describe them Linkedin was pretty easy to set up mostly self explanatory after that the others got a bit harder not in there set up but in there functionality . I got them all set up but am still in the process of learning what they do and why on earth I need each of the services. One word of advice make all the user names and passwords the same or it gets real confusing real quick. I understand the whole Social bookmarking thing makes your favorite places accessible from any computer as well as the favorite sites of your friends I can see that being handy if you frequent many sites, not so in my case but I think I can make it work. LinkedIn not sure what I will do with that after class is over. I am a bit more fond of Facebook more people I know use it and as a method of social networking it's something I see me using in the future. I can see that I am going to be plagued with problems from netvibes only because I do not understand the site yet. That about covers this week going to go back to doing homework now.
I felt the same way about netvibes. Now I really like it. I played around with the color scheme and the arrangements of the widgets and now I like it. Its like having all your favorite things in one spot. You can get your news, updates of facebook, weather, calendar and emails all at one time. I hope you figure it out. Let me know if you need help.
ReplyDeleteHave you figured out how to make your own widgets? A lot of the sites I am interested in are not the options in their list of widgets.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with what you were saying about the monotony of signing up for online services it's like name, email, password repeat, it does get dull however it sure is nice to think that you can pretty much do anything on the internet as long as you have an email address.
